About

Gather is a full-service restaurant and bar overlooking Boston Harbor. We serve inventive, modern American inspired cuisine that accommodates all palates.

Gather is a refuge from the hustle and bustle of District Hall, where creative minds can treat themselves to top quality food and drink.

We believe local is better, and that’s why all of our ingredients are sourced from neighboring areas whenever possible.

Chef Dennis Wilson

Chef Dennis WilsonRaised in Springfield, Massachusetts, Chef Dennis Wilson made his first foray into the restaurant industry at the age of fifteen working in his local Friendly’s. Being a lover of food and not interested in a nine to five desk job, the culinary industry beckoned him. Dennis found his calling in the kitchen.

After graduating from the Connecticut Culinary Institute, his first stop was Horizons Restaurant, a popular, casual dining restaurant in Wilbraham, Massachusetts. Under the tutelage of Chef-Owner Mark Melikan, Wilson worked his way from Garde Manger to Line Cook and ultimately to Sous Chef. Subsequent stops included Dalia’s Bistro tin Brookline and an extended stay at Circadia Bistro in Harwich Port on Cape Cod. Working alongside Chef Franck Champely, Wilson developed his palate and learned refined French techniques.

In 2004, Wilson joined the team at Azure at the Lenox Hotel in Boston’s Back Bay. Hired originally as a Line Cook, Wilson was soon named Sous Chef and then Executive Sous Chef. After the 2008 departure of Chef Robert Fathman, Wilson stepped into the role of Executive Chef without hesitation. In 2009 he successfully helped transform Azure into what is now City Table. Housed in the same location at the Lenox, the shift was made from white table cloth dining, to a more casual neighborhood eatery with the same great quality and creative menu items.

In 2013, Wilson was on the opening team for Gather and currently leads all food and beverage for the restaurant, Brew, and District Hall. Though he’d like to open his own place eventually, Wilson is currently soaking up everything he can from Boston’s culinary community, fine tuning his talent with seasonal produce, local seafood and ever changing menu ideas. During his rare downtime, Wilson, who lives in South Boston, loves to travel and catch the occasional soccer game.

More Information

District Hall

District Hall is located in Boston’s exciting new Innovation District, which seeks to foster collaboration and entrepreneurship for the business leaders of tomorrow. Encompassing 1,000 acres, the Innovation District has created 4,000 new jobs and 200 new companies since its inception.

District Hall and its restaurants, Gather and Brew, were designed by Boston-based Hacin + Associates to serve as a creative hub for the Innovation District. The restaurant is designed to  take advantage of striking daytime views of the waterfront while creating an intimate nighttime atmosphere under a 'light cloud' of mismatched new and vintage light bulbs—symbolically representing the evolution of the 'aha' moment of a new idea. Entrepreneurs and startups can find their home in the civic spaces featuring open workspace, classrooms, assembly space and flexible use ‘pods’. Almost every surface is writable, allowing the burgeoning community to exchange ideas. And with Brew and Gather as social hubs where workers can refuel, District Hall is as much a networking space as a work space.
